China Declares Time of Mourning

On Monday, May 12, 2008 at 2:28 P.M., an earthquake shook and destroyed many lives in Sichuan Province.  The government has declared 3 days of mourning and has also called for 3 minutes of silence today to remember the 3 minutes that shook China.

一星期前的今天，下午14时28分，中国四川省发生了一场8.0级地震，瞬间夺去了众多人的生命。为表达对四川汶川大地震遇难同胞的深切哀悼，国务院决定，2008年5月19日至21日为全国哀悼日。5月19日14时28分起，全国人民默哀3分钟，届时汽车、火车、舰船鸣笛，防空警报鸣响。
