Guiding Principles
When people experience internal transformation, they are better equipped to achieve results that are line with their organization's values and integrity. At LDi, we call this leadership from the inside out.
Beginning in our schools and continuing on through our professional training programs, we strive to create environments where fundamental change can take place. At all levels of our organization, we stress the following principles of leadership:
Influence. Rather than coerce or control, we encourage people to use their powers of influence to help guide others in the right direction.
Service. As individuals, we must make a conscious decision to lead in order to better serve others, not to increase our own power.
Humility. Leadership means following a path that focuses on the greater good – not satisfying one’s ego with material gains and personal acclaim.
Communal. Sustained and significant transformations can only be accomplished in and through communities.
